The 2023 SpeakOut Scholarship Award
The SpeakOut Scholarship award is designed to contribute to our ongoing commitment to supporting people of color from the LGBTQIA+ community as they pursue their personal and professional education goals. In 2023, we awarded two (2) scholarships up to $10,000.00.
One scholarship was awarded to a graduating high school senior and to one undergraduate or graduate student.

Scholarship Qualifications
- Be a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and Person of Color) and a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Applicant must have applied and/or been accepted to a four or two-year college or university during the 2023- 2024 academic year, at the time of scholarship application submission. Please submit proof of enrollment letter or letter of acceptance from current or future school.
- Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation.
- Have a cumulative 2.5 (75) or higher GPA at the time of application for graduating high school seniors
- Have a cumulative 3.0 (80) or higher GPA at the time of application for undergraduate and graduate students
- Be able to demonstrate a significant amount of community service.
- Submit an essay (min 1000 words) describing your future plans/goals, and detail how this scholarship award can impact or enhance your life.
- Provide a copy of your latest high school or college transcript
