On October 5th, SpeakOut hosted the Third Annual “I AM” Awards weekend, featuring a black-tie Fundraising Gala and Awards Program that celebrated the accomplishments of Black LGBTQ people who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life of the minority LGBTQ community and who have demonstrated a commitment to social change. We ushered in a dynamic conversation and future for Same Gender Loving (SGL) people.

People's Choice Awards
Introduced last year, the People’s Choice Award honors individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community who have made significant contributions through advocacy, creativity, content, and representation.
The SpeakOut Scholarship Award
The SpeakOut Scholarship award is designed to contribute to our ongoing commitment to supporting people of color from the LGBTQIA+ community as they pursue their personal and professional education goals. In 2023, we awarded two (2) scholarships up to $10,000.00. One scholarship was awarded to a graduating high school senior and to one undergraduate or graduate student.
